Claude, Anthropic's chatbot, now available on Android

The official app of Claude, Anthropic’s high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that was already available on the App Store for iPhone since last May, officially debuts on the Android Play Store. This release now covers the vast majority of smartphones worldwide, providing free access to the latest and most advanced version of Claude, known as Sonnet 3.5.
What it offers
There is a lot at stake in the Claude app for Android, which grants free access to a wide range of AI features. The most relevant are: interaction via photos taken with the chatbot (or by uploading them from the reel), as well as documents, real-time translation from a variety of languages, and full synchronization of conversations between all devices it is accredited with (iOS, Android or web).
As Anthropic promises, Claude can even handle complex requests, such as analyzing contracts, conducting market research or arranging a business meeting. The mobile dimension of the chatbot can be very useful in framing a menu to better understand the dishes in a restaurant, in ordering concepts after brainstorming at work, or in generating texts with several tones and for several potential recipients.

YouTube launches a feature that seeks to steal the attention of TikTok users

YouTube has announced new tools coming soon to Shorts, including an automatic layout feature for Android, which helps transform longer videos into those of shorter duration by choosing the best format for them.
YouTube Shorts videos, which arrived in Colombia in July 2021, are vertical and short videos, which cannot exceed 60 seconds and are displayed in their own tab in the platform’s ‘app’, as well as on each channel’s homepage.
The company has recognized that Shorts aims to “break down barriers to creation” and make video sharing “fun and easy” for both experienced creators and those just starting out.
To inspire them, it has developed six new tools, which will be available soon and are intended to facilitate the creation of content in Shorts, as he said in a statement on his blog.
First of all, it has recalled that in August last year it announced tools aimed at boosting ‘shorts’, which it has sought to improve with the introduction of an option that allows you to give a video an automatic layout on Android.
It’s a feature that automatically tracks the main theme of a video as it’s being converted into a Short. “That means when you’re remixing long-form videos into Shorts, the auto-layout tool will automatically scroll, zoom and crop,” it has said in the release.
On the other hand, it has commented that it will be updated with a ‘Text-to-Speech’ option, which will give creators “even more ways to express themselves” by having the text of their Short narrated aloud. This recording can be added by tapping the ‘Add Voice’ icon — with four available — located at the top left.
YouTube will also allow users to add ‘stickers’ in which users are encouraged to share their content using the ‘Add your own’ callsign. That will “trigger a chain reaction” from other creators, according to YouTube.
On the other hand, the platform has indicated that “soon” it will be possible to add automatically generated subtitles directly to the content, to make Shorts “more fun, engaging, accessible and useful”.
It has also launched the option to remix a ‘remix’, which allows users to join “the fun with other creators” while giving their “personal touch” to the remixed content.
Finally, on the occasion of Minecraft’s 15th anniversary, it announced the launch of two new effects in Shorts, Minecraft Spring -which transports users “directly” into the game world- and Minecraft Rush, a new mini-game that can be played directly in the player.

Ingenious Omega advertising for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The sponsors of the Olympic Games are already warming up for July 26th, the date on which the 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off. The watch brand Omega, one of the longest-running sponsors of this great sporting event and official timekeeper of the 2024 Olympic Games, launches a new advertising campaign starring some of the most emblematic monuments of the French capital, to pay tribute to the athletes.
Under the slogan “Born to be a Legend”, the brand represents some of the icons of Paris such as the Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower, while Olympic and Paralympic athletes show their prowess in various disciplines.
Thanks to special effects, swimmer Léon Marchand dives into the Seine River; high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi leaps over the Arc de Triomphe; pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis climbs the Sacré-Coeur; the Pont de Bir-Hakeim bridge serves as a net for table tennis champion Ma Long and his opponent; and Trocadero Square becomes the fencing piste for Paralympic gold medalist Bebe Vio.

“The precision shown in the film is nothing less than Omega’s own accuracy when it comes to creating timepieces or, more appropriately, timing each Olympic event with precision,” they explain from the brand. “The result is an inspiring video that represents not only the world’s greatest sporting event, but also the dreams and determination of every athlete who participates.”
Meta
Get more audience with Instagram Reels

Meta added overlay ads to Instagram Reels, offering new ad placements to reach users with banner ads while they watch reels.
The big picture. This move aligns with Meta’s ongoing strategy to monetize Reels across its platforms, following the earlier introduction of overlay ads on Facebook Reels.
Details:
- Overlay ads are now available on Instagram Reels.
- Two formats: single-image and image carousel ads.
- Appear as banner ads at the bottom of the screen during Reels playback.
Why we care. Instagram Reels is a rapidly growing content type with high user engagement. This update allows advertisers to tap into this audience more effectively, and the option for single-image or carousel ads provides flexibility in crafting messages and showcasing products.
How to access:
Advertisers can select these placements in Meta Ads Manager through:
- Advantage+ placements
- Manual placements → overlay and post-loop ads on Reels
- Manual placements → Stories and Reels
Between the lines. Meta is gradually rolling out these features, meaning they may not be immediately available to all advertisers.
Bottom line. This expansion offers advertisers new ways to engage with users consuming short-form video content on Instagram, a key growth area for Meta.
